Meet Brandi Underwood
Brandi was born in the small town of Parsons, Kansas, arriving in Texas at the age of eleven. Brandi was raised by a single mother who was a professional horse trainer. Brandi’s experience barrel racing and training horses taught her that the key to success is preparation and determination. Brandi knew she wanted to be an attorney at a very young age, even attempting to apply to law school at the age of twelve.
Brandi attended high school in “the cowboy capital of Texas,” Bandera, Texas. During high school she strove for the excellence needed to succeed in law school. Brandi received a Presidential Scholarship for academic excellence upon graduation. She attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, where she majored in English.
After receiving a score in the 98th percentile on the LSAT exam, Brandi again received a Presidential Scholarship to law school. Brandi traveled to Ft. Worth to attend law school at Texas Wesleyan University. Brandi participated in trial advocacy, the student division of the State Bar Association, the legal fraternity Delta Theta Phi and continued barrel racing and competing competitively throughout her three years of law school. Brandi began working in the Cooke County District Attorney’s Office during her second year of law school. As a third year law student, Brandi obtained her certification in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Mediation.
Brandi worked in private practice for a few distinguished law firms in Denton and Collin counties for several years where she defined her courtroom skills. In 2014, Brandi opened her own practice, hoping to serve the local community with the same preparation and determination she applies to her barrel racing.
Brandi married the love of her life, Steven, in 2008. She spends her free time with her husband and son, Kreek, who both share her love of animals. Brandi is active in several professional and personal organizations in the community. Brandi strives to maintain honesty, compassion, strength and excellence in all her endeavors. She is known for her gift of communicating caring, sympathy and sound legal advice to each client she serves. Brandi is well liked by clients, local attorneys, court staff and judges.
